Our beaches and precious marine life are so important. When you go to the beach, what do you want to see? It’s clean water, clean sand, and sandcastles being made.

We all want to see that, so that is why we want our beaches to be clean and environmentally friendly.

Marine life is a very crucial aspect of our nature. So I’m very passionate about it.

I believe in this world, we are created equal, and that’s including our very own beautiful marine specimens and coral reefs.

My name is Leigh. I’m a member of the Charlestown Wilderness Society Group, and have been doing it for almost three years.

I’m a disability advocate and passionate about people with disabilities. I’m a writer and a storyteller, and I’m one of four boys in the family.

I like being in the Wilderness Society Group, having friends in my life, and working with passionate people. I like making the environment a better place, for nature and for people, and for people with disabilities.

When I think about fossil fuel gas, I see the fires from two years ago – the massive bushfires that destroyed our land, livelihoods, houses and businesses.

We need to stop coal mines from being made. What we need is renewable and clean energy.

The world needs to change. Our own government needs to rethink strategic plans for the future and keep our planet safe.

Who knows when COVID will go away but I still want to emphasise climate change and to make sure our clean beaches, marine life and renewable clean energy are recognised and haven’t been forgotten. This is a powerful but complex thing I care about.

Will you make a difference? I know I will.

Leigh Creighton, Mount Hutton
